The Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act) promotes transparency and access to government-held information, allowing individuals to request information unless it is contrary to the public interest.

All RTI application must:

  • be in writing and preferably using the application form

  • provide sufficient information concerning the document(s) to enable the University to identify them

  • state the address for the delivery of notices and documents to which you seek access

  • include suitable evidence of identity, if seeking access to documents containing your own personal information (refer to the Access to and Amendment of UQ Documents Procedure)

  • be accompanied by the application fee of $57.65 (payment of the application may be made through our RTI Application Fee payment page, or by cheque to The University of Queensland). There will continue to be no application fee for applications limited to documents containing the applicant's personal information

  • be submitted by email to rti@uq.edu.au or mailed to:

Your application will be processed in accordance with the RTI Act. Access to documents will ordinarily be provided in the form that you requested.
