UQ is reviewing its policies and procedures to make sure they are high quality and needs-based.

Some new policies have been developed and a number of existing policies have been either deleted, demoted, consolidated or revised.

Recent major changes to UQ's policies and procedures are outlined below and will be listed here as they are approved and published.

26 March, 2020 Secondary Employment and Internal Work Procedure (1.50.02) New procedure outlining the processes and requirements for UQ staff undertaking secondary employment to augment their income or enhance their personal or professional development. The procedure was approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Reasearch) on 26 March 2020.
26 March, 2020 Consultancy Procedure (1.50.02) New procedure outlining the processes and requirements for UQ staff to partner with industry, government and other organisations to engage in consultancy services. The procedure was approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) on 26 March 2020.
23-24 March, 2020 Reasonable Adjustments - Students - Policy and Procedure (3.50.06) Revised policy and procedure for reasonable adjustments that may be made to UQ's academic programs, courses and examinations to ensure all its students are able to participate equitably in their course or program of study. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and President on 24 March 2020. The procedure was approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) on 23 March 2020.
24 March, 2020 Work Integrated Learning and Work Experience Policy (3.10.04) Revised and updated policy providing a framework for managing the engagement of students in work-based learning experiences for educational benefit. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and President on 24 March 2020.
23 March, 2020 Work Integrated Learning and Work Experience Procedure (3.10.04) Revised and updated procedure to provide systematic application of practices for identifying, planning, assessing / evaluating, monitoring, and reviewing work integrated learning and work experience opportunities. The procedure was approved by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) on 23 March 2020. 
25 February, 2020 UQ Governance and Management Framework Policy (1.00.01) This policy was amended to incorporate Principles for the Protection of Freedom of Speech and Academic Freedom at UQ. The amendments were approved by Senate on 25 February 2020.
20 February, 2020 Shorter Form Credentials Policy (3.20.09) New policy setting out the principles and requirements that inform the structure and design of shorter form credentials offered at UQ. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and President on 20 February 2020. 
9 January, 2020 Working in a PC3 Facility (2.40.17b) Updated procedure outlining requirements at UQ for conducting work in a UQ facility classified as Physical Containment level 3 (PC3), to ensure regulatory compliance, safety and protection of the environment. The procedure was approved by the Director, Health, Safety and Wellness on 9 January 2020. 
12 December, 2019 Consultancy, Secondary Employment and Internal Work Policy (1.50.02) New policy  setting out principles and requirements relating to work that UQ staff may engage in using their specialised skills and that do not form part of their core employment duties. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and President on 12 December 2019.
11 December, 2019 Chemicals of Security Concern (PPL 2.70.26b) New procedure providing the minimum requirements at UQ for work involving the acquisition, storage, use and disposal of chemicals of security concern, as guided by the National Code of Practice for Chemicals of Security Concern. The procedure was approved by the Director, Health, Safety and Wellness on 11 December 2019.
18 November, 2019 Insurance Coverage and Management of Claims Procedure (PPL 9.70.01) New procedure to provide staff and students with an understanding of their obligations and the processes when making an insurance claim at UQ. The procedure was approved by the Director, Governance and Risk on 18 November 2019.
23 October, 2019 Administration of Research Funding: Applications, Grants and Contract Research Policy (4.10.01) New policy outlining the principles and key requirements associated with the administration of research funding at UQ. The policy was approved by the Vice-Chancellor and President on 23 October 2019.
