Insurance Services’ role is to:

  • Ensure UQ and UQ's staff and students have appropriate insurance cover for the range of activities undertaken, and arrange additional cover as required;
  • Provide policy interpretation and advice to staff and students (excludes private insurance);
  • Provide advice to staff on insurance-related contract provisions;
  • Manage insurance claims;
  • Manage the annual renewal of UQ's insurance policies; and
  • Work with insurers and UQ Enterprise Risk to assess UQ's higher risk activities (insurable risks).
